Day 1: Arrival in Zanzibar – Fly to Mikumi National Park

Afterward, embark on a short evening game drive in Mikumi National Park. The park is home to diverse wildlife such as elephants, giraffes, lions, and buffaloes. You may spot some of these animals during the golden hours of the evening.

Day 2: Full-Day Safari in Mikumi National Park

Morning:

Start the day early with breakfast at the lodge.

Head out for a full-day game drive in Mikumi National Park. Explore the Mkata floodplains, home to herds of elephants, zebras, wildebeests, and antelopes. Mikumi’s proximity to the Udzungwa Mountains adds a beautiful backdrop to your safari adventure.

Midday:

Enjoy a picnic lunch in the park, surrounded by the sounds of the wild.

Afternoon:

Continue exploring Mikumi, visiting the Hippo Pool and spotting birds, such as the marabou stork and various hornbills. Your guide will share insights into the park’s ecosystem, ensuring a rich wildlife experience.

Return to the lodge for dinner and relaxation.

Day 3: Mikumi to Nyerere National Park (Selous Game Reserve)

Morning:

After breakfast, check out of your lodge in Mikumi and take a scenic flight or road transfer to Nyerere National Park (formerly known as Selous Game Reserve).

On arrival, transfer to your lodge or camp in Nyerere.

Afternoon:

After checking in and having lunch, head out on an introductory game drive to explore this vast and biodiverse park. Nyerere National Park is known for its rich wildlife, including elephants, wild dogs, crocodiles, and the majestic Rufiji River, which adds beauty to the landscape.

Evening:

Return to your lodge for dinner and enjoy a peaceful evening under the African sky.

Day 4: Full-Day Safari in Nyerere National Park

Morning:

After breakfast, embark on a morning game drive. Explore the stunning Rufiji River, a prime location for observing hippos, crocodiles, and a variety of bird species. The river is also a vital water source for many animals, so you may spot elephants, buffaloes, and other wildlife coming to drink.

Midday:

Stop for a picnic lunch inside the park, surrounded by wildlife and nature.

Afternoon:

Continue your safari with a boat ride on the Rufiji River, where you can observe animals from a different perspective. This boat ride offers a chance to see wildlife up close, including crocodiles sunbathing and elephants bathing in the river.

Evening:

Return to your lodge for dinner. Enjoy the tranquility of the park and relax under the stars.

Day 5: Transfer to Zanzibar – Beach Relaxation

Morning:

After breakfast, check out of your lodge and take a flight back to Zanzibar.

Upon arrival, you will be transferred to your beach resort or hotel.

Afternoon:

Spend your afternoon relaxing on the beaches of Zanzibar. Whether it's the famous Nungwi Beach, Kendwa, or Paje, enjoy the clear turquoise waters and white sandy beaches. You can swim, sunbathe, or enjoy a refreshing beach cocktail.

Evening:

Have dinner at a beachside restaurant and enjoy the sunset views. Zanzibar’s beaches are perfect for a relaxed evening by the water.

Day 6: Zanzibar Beach Day and Departure

Morning:

After breakfast, enjoy a day of beach activities in Zanzibar. You can choose to go snorkeling at nearby reefs, visit Prison Island to see giant tortoises, or simply relax on the beach.

For a cultural experience, visit Stone Town, where you can explore the historic streets, visit the House of Wonders, and shop for local crafts.

Afternoon:

If time permits, enjoy a sunset cruise on a traditional dhow boat. This peaceful cruise is a great way to take in the beauty of Zanzibar’s coastline as the sun sets over the Indian Ocean.

Evening:

Depending on your flight time, your driver will transfer you to Zanzibar Airport for your international flight back home.
