The next trek takes you 12km to Horombo Hut (3,720m), transitioning through heath and moorland zones with expansive views of Mawenzi and Kibo peaks, helping you acclimatize to the higher altitudes. The following day, you’ll continue 10km to Kibo Hut (4,703m), crossing the desert-like "Saddle" plateau between the peaks of Mawenzi and Kibo, offering spectacular mountain terrain. From there, you will make your summit attempt starting at midnight, climbing to Gilman’s Point (5,681m) and then to Uhuru Peak (5,895m), Africa’s highest point, where you’ll witness a breathtaking sunrise before descending 15km back to Horombo Hut for rest.
